William Edmondson was born about 1734. He was the son of John Edmonston. William married Margaret Montgomery. Margaret Edmondson (1762) He married Elizabeth Kennedy. Martha Edmondson (1779), In 1773 William was on the list of the united Presbyterian congregations of Ebbing and Sinking Springs, on the Holston River in Fincastle County, Virginia who called the Reverend Charles Cummings to be their pastor. In 1776, William was on the Cherokee Expedition. He was mentioned in John Sevier's diary in 1799.
